Human Trafficking Awareness Event
Human Trafficking Awareness Event
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Human Trafficking Awareness Event. We are deeply grateful for our community coming together to help raise awareness about this heartbreaking issue and stand united in the fight to end human trafficking.
The event took place on Saturday, Jan. 31, bringing together community members, caregivers, educators, youth and local organizations for an afternoon of learning, connection and action.
Attendees received valuable resources for caregivers and educators, and connected to human trafficking prevention and intervention services for youth. Guests explored resources from community organizations and field experts, visited the San Diego Live Well Bus for connections to services and heard inspirational stories from individuals with lived experience.
Participants also enjoyed an Art Walk featuring youth-created art centered on the theme “Healing & Resilience,” a raffle with exciting prizes, snacks and drinks and meaningful opportunities to connect with community partners.
A special thank you to our incredible partners who helped make this event possible: Human Trafficking Task Force, Child and Family Well Being, Pala Band of Mission Indians, Southern Indian Health Council, Talitha Coffee Shop, One Safe Place – Family Justice Center, Alabaster Jar, Planned Parenthood, and Unbranded.
We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to our generous sponsors: Escondido Children’s Museum of Discovery, SD Whale Watching, Spiritual Massage Healing, Jimbos, Cakes 4 Kids, and Oriental Trading Company. Your support helps us continue providing critical services and resources to youth and families in our community.
