New Project to House Youth Experiencing Homelessness

San Diego Youth Services recently partnered with Urban Street Angels and Home Start, Inc., on one of our newest housing projects: The Lodge. The Lodge, a former hotel, has a total of 58 units that have been converted into living quarters for youth experiencing homelessness. SDYS’ 30 units are set aside for single youth and youth with partners. SDYS provides wraparound services on-site, including case management, mental health services and job training to help youth build life-long skills that they need to live independently. They can live at the Lodge for up to a year or longer, if needed, with the ultimate goal of transitioning into their own apartment when they’re ready. The program is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
