Business Partnership Process TAY Works! is looking for local businesses throughout San Diego County that would like to step into the mentor role and offer a space for our youth to apply their job skills and grow in the workforce

- The TAY Works! business service representative will recruit employers in the community.

- Utilizing social media, SDYS website, and continuous networking, TAY Works! has had the pleasure of meeting employers who are ready to open their doors to our youth to learn. When a business contacts TAY Works! with employment opportunities for our youth, we work with them to develop a hiring plan.

TAY Works! program manager will schedule a meeting via Zoom to share more about our workforce programing and to learn about the employment opportunity being presented.

- The program manager will request the employer complete the information sheet.

- Provide a job description for each position available.

These documents will assist the program to identify participants that would make the best fit for the job.

A MOU will be written up on behalf of SDYS TAY Works! program which will include additional information on the agreement. The employer will be asked to sign and send back to the program manager. This MOU will be valid for one year from the date it was signed.

- Employers will be sent over a short PowerPoint reviewing Trauma Informed Care and confidentiality.

- They will also receive TAY Works! staff point of contact list and information about hiring youth ( Only if the youth is under the age of 18).

TAY Works! has three pathway programs (Trades, On Track & Workforce) which have varying requirements for either job placement or on-the job-training. These details will be discussed in first meeting. TAY Works! staff will complete an interview, review job description / requirements, and identify if the participant will be a fit for the opportunity.

- TAY Works: Complete interview and obtain signed release of information to connect with employer.

- Employer is encouraged to complete an additional interview to confirm the participant is a match.

- Employer may also provide an application for the youth to complete upon recruitment.

Once a participant has been selected and placed, the employer and participant will receive:

- Support from TAY Works! staff

- Weekly/Monthly check ins

- Employers’ business will be listed as a partner on our social media and website
