San Diego Youth Services Celebrates With Pride
Statement by Walter Philips, San Diego Youth Services CEO
Pride weekend is quickly approaching, and I am so excited that San Diego Youth Services is again participating in the parade and festival. As the proud father of a son who is gay, I am honored to serve as San Diego Youth Services’ CEO as we work to make our world a safer, more welcoming place for our LGBTQ+ youth.
I am proud of the work we do as an organization to promote diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. Through Pride we create awareness, fight for equal treatment and acceptance, and work hard to create a better, more just future for our region’s LGBTQ+ youth.
Over my 24 years as CEO of SDYS, we have actively participated in Pride year after year and have been at the forefront in fighting for equity and inclusivity for our LGBTQ+ community.
I am excited to participate in the parade and festival this weekend and look forward to seeing you there.
To all of our hardworking and dedicated staff, volunteers and board members: Thank you for your commitment to making the world a better and more equitable place for our region’s youth. I am so honored to be your CEO.
Sincerely,
Walter Philips
