Youth Service Projects

Youth taking action to support their peers.

Attention Scouts and Other Youth!

Looking for ideas for community service opportunities or Take Action Projects? You can make the world a better place by helping children in foster care and other San Diego Youth Services programs!

Service Project Ideas

Make a Donation of Needed Items
Ask people you know to donate new blankets, stuffed animals and other comfort items to support youth who don't have a permanent home.

Start a Fundraiser
Fundraise in honor of an event in your life (like a bat/bar mitzvah, quinceañera, or other meaningful event).

Hold a Letter Writing Party
With your friends, write holiday cards to youth in our programs. Include encouraging messages, drawings and holiday wishes.

Choose Us for Your Girl Scout Project
Complete a badge requirement or achieve one of your higher awards! Some ideas: make a permanent change for SDYS (ex: plant something or install something), educate and inspire others to be part of the change (ex: create an awareness poster campaign for SDYS or workshop) or design another project that inspires you!
