There are many ways that you can help ensure sustainable support for San Diego Youth Services. We will work with you and your advisers to create a giving plan that best fits your financial and charitable interests.

Bequest

Remembering San Diego Youth Services in your will or living trust is a personal way to extend the influence of your life and may bring significant estate tax savings. Your gift may be in the form of cash, securities or property. A codicil or amendment to an existing will or living trust can be used to make simple changes such as naming an additional beneficiary.

Informing San Diego Youth Services of your will or living trust provisions allows us to thank you now for your contribution and to facilitate our financial plans.

Charitable Gift Annuity

A charitable gift annuity is a transfer of your financial assets or real estate to a nonprofit organization, such as San Diego Youth Services, which pays you a fixed income for the rest of your life. The great benefit of charitable gift annuities is that they pay a much higher rate of return than an average money market fund or savings account. Depending on your age, you can receive between 6 percent and 11.3 percent return on your gift. Upon your death, the remaining principal is paid to the organization.

Charitable Remainder Trust

A charitable remainder trust is a significant irrevocable gift of cash or property. You receive an immediate charitable deduction and a lifetime of income for yourself or for your beneficiaries with the principal eventually transferring to San Diego Youth Services.

IRA Rollover

Congress has extended the provisions to roll over your IRA to charity. The new act allows an IRA owner age 70 1/2 or older to directly transfer an IRA to a charity without penalty, up to a value of $100,000.

Endowments

San Diego Youth Services would be happy to establish an endowment on your behalf. You may also make your gift through the San Diego Foundation, designating San Diego Youth Services Endowment.
